March 29, 2014 will commence the first inaugural “wings of ART” art auction and gala to benefit one of Oklahoma’s most notable nonprofit organization Special Care, Inc. whose mission is “To nurture all children with and without special needs in safe, inclusive and supportive environments through education, therapeutic intervention and community acceptance.” The “wings of ART” event will be a ticketed event only by which all proceeds will directly benefit Special Care and the individual artists who so graciously have chosen to be a part of this show.

This all inclusive evening consists of Oklahoma’s finest art, decadent hors d’oeuvres, full bar, and musical entertainment. Enjoy the dressy casual style and convenient valet service at Istvan Gallery. Guests will be greeted and escorted into the gallery to enjoy the art and atmosphere created just for this night. Each piece of art on display will be available for purchase by silent auction or the buy it now price. This unique evening is set to bridge together a fine night out by which any moneys spent will go directly back to Special Care and the artists involved.

“wings of ART” was founded by two friends who share a mutual love for the amazing kids at Special Care and the flourishing art scene in Oklahoma City. Michael Collins (Special Care Marketing and Promotions Director) and Christie Owen (local artist, Fringe Vice President & Marketing Director)  began by teaching some art lessons at Special Care. The art lessons were enjoyed by all; the children, teachers, artists, parents and volunteers. Everyone was pulling together to make things happen. Soon the therapeutic connection between the kids and art gave way to solutions for other issues; Special Care needed more space to grow and Oklahoma artists needed more local support. “wings of ART” was created with the mission to benefit everyone involved so the kids at Special Care can evolve, Oklahoma artists can connect with the community and the sponsors get great local art.
